The Lands of Monviso

Viso A Viso Community Cooperative was founded at Lou Pourtoun – the civic and cultural center of Ostana and the Po Valley – in the Lands of Monviso: a stunning territory straddling Italy and France, made up of landscapes ranging from gentle valley hills to rich high-altitude grasslands, all the way up to the 3,841 meters of the majestic Stone King, Monviso, from whose slopes the Po River—the longest river in Italy—originates.

An unspoiled corner of Europe, this land has been recognized by UNESCO as the Monviso Biosphere Reserve: a quiet land, yet of extraordinary beauty and uniqueness.
