Lou Pourtoun – Civic and Cultural Center

Location:
Lou Pourtoun, headquarters of Viso A Viso, is located at approximately 1,350 meters above sea level in the Sant’Antonio hamlet, one of the most picturesque in Ostana, with a privileged view of Monviso.

Architecture and Purpose:
Lou Pourtoun is an extraordinary architectural work, nationally and internationally recognized. It is a contemporary interpretation of traditional Occitan building styles, embodying the community’s vision of revival. After five years of management by Viso A Viso, it has been recognized as Ostana and Valle Po’s civic and cultural center, serving a transgenerational audience.

As a space of cultural innovation and social transformation, Lou Pourtoun functions as a knowledge workshop, hosting diverse and open cultural practices. It is a meeting place and a proximity cultural infrastructure, a hub for residents, researchers, artists, authors, teachers, and trainers who have contributed to making Ostana a renowned laboratory of contemporary Alpine culture.

Community and Cultural Welfare:
The center also co-develops community and cultural welfare projects with the local population, integrating public services where they are absent or insufficient.
