Lou Pourtoun – Civic and Cultural Center is located at about 1,350 meters above sea level in the S. Antonio hamlet, one of the most beautiful in Ostana, with a privileged view of Monviso.
This public facility, managed by Viso A Viso, welcomes residents and visitors, offering a refreshment area – the Alpine Snack Bar – and spaces for various activities: the Coworking area, the Auditorium, spaces for teaching and research, BAO – Open Library of Ostana, and Alpstream – Center for the Study of Alpine Rivers.
If you are looking for a place to study or work, rest, organize meetings or family events, participate in Viso A Viso events and activities, or simply stop to relax and share a convivial moment, Lou Pourtoun is the place for you.

The Alpine Merenderia
At the Merenderia, you can enjoy fragrant sandwiches in the best mountain tradition, filled with a delicious range of fresh ingredients of your choice, accompanied by a good glass of wine, a refreshing craft beer, or an organic juice.
For those passing by in the morning, ready for trekking, the Merenderia prepares packed lunches and snacks to take along to the peaks or meadows in front of Monviso.
For those arriving in the afternoon, or joining us for an aperitif event, there are plenty of generous platters and sparkling drinks.
Lunches and dinners are prepared with simple, genuine, and local ingredients.
BAO - Open Library of Ostana
BAO is an original collection of publications dedicated to the mountains, born from valuable donations. Books, scientific and technical journals, and graphic publications explore medicine, mountaineering, architecture, landscape, tourism, and life in these territories for both adults and children. The library has a section for children, young adults, and illustration, and will gradually make the various cataloged collections available. The publications can be accessed through the CaiSiDoc and SBN catalogs.
Co-working
At Lou Pourtoun, it is possible to use large shared spaces or smaller rooms for group study and work.
The facility is supervised by our staff, who provide support for activities specifically dedicated to young people.
Inside the building, the Merenderia Alpina is also available for lunch, a coffee, or simply a break.

Auditorium and Exhibition Space
On floor -1, Lou Pourtoun offers a large hall with excellent acoustics, making it a perfect space for concerts, performances, and film screenings. The space is equipped with a video projector, microphones, a stereo system, chairs, and comfortable deck chairs.
Its generous size makes it flexible for showcasing original exhibitions, allowing the space to be adapted as needed and creating a unique setting each time.
